Little Updates

Just a few quick updates, just for fun...

- Josiah is totally enjoying his soccer class and is our little soccer star. He and Daddy went to the barber shop and he got his hair cut on Saturday, and now looks like he's at least 5, but maybe 6 years old. (WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY BOY!?) I think it's a good thing we're having another... kids grow WAY too quickly. Especially MY kids.

- Lydia is a walking talking baby doll. She has a very enthusastic, "YEAH!" that she says now, just like her cousin Lucy used to do. She also says "BOOO-K" now and spends most of the day bringing me books to read. Her current favorite is the "My Little Picture Dictionary" which could take all day to read.... so Mommy convienantly flips about 10 pages at a time. She isn't just walking anymore- she's RUNNING. She weighs at least 25 lbs. That's another reason it's a good we're having another... if she were teeny tiny like her cousin Molly, I might remember she's still a baby too. ;o)

- Three-Bee is fine... good... huge. (That last word mainly describes my current state) He/She is officially due in 2 weeks, and I will officially love it more the sooner it arrives. (HA! I'm kidding!) But seriously, I was very happy when Lydia arrived ONE day before her due date... so this kid can come anytime, that's fine by me.

- To Jess and the girls- I hope you are feeling better and we are praying for you!

Will attempt to update again soon... maybe even with pictures if I am really good. For now, here's a silly picture of Lydia in some cute new pajamas... I know, I need to do something with this girl's hair. But hey, we don't judge you for how your hair looks first thing in the morning! :)

Well... here's to hoping my NEXT post is introducing you to our newest family member! :)

Let it Out

Josiah is really excited about this new baby. So yesterday when Michael came home early from work so that I could go to my midwife appointment, I gave Josiah a hug goodbye and told him I had to go to my "baby appointment". He was VERY excited and I told him I'd be back later... little did I know what he thought I meant...

Then after my appointment I was also treated to a foot massage, dinner and a pedicure... talk about a great evening! My toes are adorable. Which is good... takes away from the swollen ankles ;) But I wasn't home until after he was in bed.

And then this morning, I wake up, and Josiah is snuggling up to me in my bed with a sad little look on his face... "Good morning sweetie... how are you?" I said.

JOSIAH: *sigh* "Hi Mom." ... *pause* ... "Mom... I thought you were going to be open and have the baby"

HA HA! Poor little guy is getting just as impatient as I am. I told him it won't be much longer that he has to wait.

It reminds me of a few weeks ago when Josiah said, "MOMMY! I WANT THE NEW BABY! LET IT OUT!" Oh son, how I wish I could just let it out! ;) Hopefully, I can do that soon.

37 Weeks...

Well, I'm 37 weeks tomorrow with Three-Bee... and I often get the "How are you feeling?" question. Oh my. I feel like saying, "don't ask." This kid needs to GET OUT. Basically, I'm miserable, I won't lie, and let's just leave it at that.
I'm trying to keep focused on the "happy ending" part (purposefully skipping past the thinking of labor and delivery part...) to when they place this baby in my arms and it's ALL OVER. phew! And I can nurse and snuggle and (go crazy with three kids) but not be PREGNANT anymore. YAYYY!!!!

I'm praying for a 38 weeker... please pray with me for that! Who knows. I have no reason to believe he/she will arrive early, but hey, a girl can dream.

The kids are getting restless because I can't take them anywhere or do anything with them... but have been remarkably patient with my limited abilites overall. I figure a couple weeks with extra movies and snacks and anything to keep them happy and quiet isn't too bad, we'll get back to a "new normal" soon enough!

Michael- my poor wonderful husband-- is exhausted, possibly more than I am. He's working his job, preparing for the upcoming class he's teaching, and often trying to do that from home these days while caring for the kids and doing all the housework. Basically he's doing his job- and mine. Needless to say, his (incredible) patience is wearing thin! This morning he said, "Let me say hello to Three-Bee..." and as he's talking to my enormous belly, he says, "you can come out now... anytime... today... tomorrow... go ahead..." haha. We're all SO READY!

Hopefully, like with Lydia, we'll post pictures and information on here as soon as we have it, so stay tuned.

In the meantime... here's my favorite pictures from Daddy's "maternity photo shoot" with me and the kids the other day... LOVE IT! I told him we should get a couple good pictures, because once he/she arrives there's no puttin' the baby back in! :)

March for Life

Today is the March for Life in Washington, DC.

I'm sad that I can't be there, (for the second year in a row) but I am truly with everyone there in my thoughts and prayers. I'm praying for all the unborn children, who have no voice, for all the mother's who've gone through the horrible aftermath of abortion, and for all our leaders who need to recognize the intrinsic evil of abortion. I'm praying that people as a whole will learn to recognize the depth of God's love and power and to respect life from the moment of conception until natural death.

Today, lil "three-bee" and I are witnesses... maybe we don't have media attention, and maybe we can't physically march (or walk) very far right now... but we sit here as an example of the fullness of God's love. And my baby, at least this one child, is SAFE in it's mother's womb.

Please pray for our country, for the babies, and for everyone at the March for Life today! God bless!

Cool Cat- take two

We're going to get reported to Child Protective Services...

if this keeps up! Josiah has had three completely random head/face injuries in TWO DAYS. Seriously!? As my brother so eloquently said, "when it rains it pours!" ...he's not kidding!

Injury 1- Josiah and Grandpa's sharp walking stick randomly collided in a weird "turn" of events (he was turning, Josiah was turning or something and ...AHH!! scratch down his face by his eye)

Injury 2- Josiah was laying on his back on the kitchen floor, during a random goofy moment where he was playing or singing or something, and LYDIA THE MIGHTY walks up and decides her playtex sippy water cup would be really fun to just randomly SLAM on her brother's forehead. Um... what!? Seriously!?

Injury 3- (saving the best for last! Actually, they were all in this order...) We're walking into Walgreens tonight and he kinda, trips... on his own feet, possibly lost balance also due to "the coat hood game" mommy was playing with him (I feel so bad if that did indeed cause him to loose his balance!) and he just crashed forward on his forehead... got a big goose-egg and scratches along with the huge bruise/bump.

I feel the need to reiterate these were all ACCIDENTAL! lol. Seriously, someone's going to report us if he doesn't stop bangin' his head! poor little guy! He's got me totally worried and I just have way too many hormones for all the extra worry these days :) I'm going to have to put a helmet with a face guard on him or something for a few days!

Anyway, please say a little prayer for the quick and speedy recovery of all our little man's "boo-boo's"! It's just tough being three.

Soccer

Josiah is taking his first SOCCER CLASS... "Kinder Kicks" for ages 3-5 year olds and it's SO INCREDIBLY CUTE! He has a great "coach" and he is learning the basic skills of soccer and having a fun time kicking a ball around and learning to listen and be patient and take turns, etc. He's had two classes so far (they are on Saturdays) and his class continues until the end of February. (It's so neat to think that the new baby will be here before his class is over!) He has been having a great time and it's fun to see him in a group class like this, using his EXCELLENT listening skills and being so obedient and just plain having some fun on these cold days where he can't get outside to play much. I'm looking forward to practicing his new skills with him and playing outside once it's warmer!

Here are some cute pictures from his soccer class... (he's the one in the jeans and Ravens jersey!) I also have a few cute videos, I will try to upload one of them soon. (Blogger doesn't usually let me...but I'll try!)

Juice Buddies

I feel it's only fair to tell you... this was completely candid -the kids playing and being themselves and loving eachother and I caught them in the act!
After giving them each a drink, Lydia walked her little self up and turned around and wanted to snuggle in her brother's lap. (I did ask them to look at me for the picture though) They are so cute :)

Dental Work

So yesterday I had a nice lil ipromptu "root canal". Gee, that was fun. uuuuggghhhh okay really it was miserable. M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E. I call from the office, tell Michael that they think I should have a root canal, and that they can do it now and are suggesting it, and after I'm done talking to him I'm in tears. The secretary/nurse says, "have you ever had a root canal?" I told her NO (it was the first time I met this doctor) and I was scared to death, and she said, "Oh really, it's not that bad,... you'll be surprised!"

HA HA. Well, surprise! It was bad.

Why am I NOT surprised? Dental work is terrible. I am honest with dentists too. I give them the chance to be all sweet and sensitive and calm my fears, if they were to so choose. I walked in and said, "look, you should know, I'm one of the many adults who are terrified of dental work" and what does the endodontist (?) say? He smiles and says, "me too!" ... oh, thank you, doc, that helps. you're cute. (not really)
And then when he's ready to begin the root canal I said, "I've never had one of these" and he says, "Me either!"

Well, thank you Mr.Funny Pants, aren't you hilarious today.

Of course I then followed that up with, "that's fine, as long as you've PERFORMED them before" lol.

Anyway, I was thinking about half way through, "well, they are probably right, you're completely numb, so this wouldn't be that bad...for the normal person" except for the fact that I'm not normal. I have TMJ, and fibromyalgia, and just having my jaw propped open like that, was pretty bad.

So today, needless to say, I'm still miserable (don't ask me why the pain medicine isn't working!) and resting it as much as I can but my jaw and left side of my face are killing me. It's lovely. The kids are looking at me pretty funny since I'm talking to them without moving my jaw (I sound really goofy!) or smiling or anything... they definitely know something is up with Mom.

My awesome hubby stayed home most of the day and just went in for a meeting this afternoon. I'm not looking forward to next Friday when they play in my mouth again to give me a temporary crown. Then I'll have to go back after the baby is born for a permanent crown. I don't even know all what's involved, but I know I'm not looking forward to next Friday! Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

3 going on 10

Josiah, I would venture to say, just read his first book. At least, real, relatively significant, out-of-the-library book. It's an "easy reader" called "A DAY WITH DADDY"... but I couldn't believe him, he read the entire book practically by himself! I think I read one or two of the words total, and helped him by reminding him of some sounds a few times, but that's it. This kid amazes me. I'm so proud!

If he's this quick with math, Daddy will definitely have to be his tutor. He's going to surpass my math knowledge by age 5! :)
