Growing Fast

So Josiah has been taking some 3 hour naps this past week and the week before, off and on. I think he's growing. Yes... napping... for 3 HOURS. I know, it's kinda ridiculous. An afternoon 2 hour nap is one thing... but crashing at LATE afternoon for 3 hours... definitely BAD for bedtime! So, since he was up sitting in bed chatting and singing and reading books until after MIDNIGHT last night (usually goes to sleep at 9pm!) he finally fell asleep then woke up early this morning and I said, "NO WAY..." he was not getting up early after being up so late. I gave him a warm milk cup and he went back to sleep until 9am. SO, we tried skipping nap today in order to get him back on track to an earlier bedtime. However, as predicted, he fell asleep in the car on the way to my parents house around 3:45 and then was a bear when he only got to nap for half an hour on Grandpa... (although I think Grandpa enjoyed the snuggle time!) haha. Anyway he finally perked up and we head home to go to bed for good. He's just now quieting down... still after 9. Lovely. (Well, the fact that he jumped out of bed saying, "MOMMY! I HAVE POO POO IN MY DIAPER!" probably had something to do with why he couldn't sleep until now...)

LYDIA on the other hand... is a miracle of nature. The child is 3 months old and sleeping through the night completely consistently. Heck, she's been doing that since she was 8 wks old!! I can't believe it! She was sleeping around 6, then 7 or 8 hours straight and NOW... believe it or not, last night she slept ALL night... and I mean ALL night... from about 9:30pm when I laid her down last night until 8:30 AM THIS MORNING!! She's amazing!! Michael was leaving a little before 7 am and said, "...I'm going to go check on her,... then leave for work" and he left so I assumed she was fine... but I kept checking on her because I was shocked. She was just fine, and woke up all cheery and happy and looking around enjoying her crib! HA HA! I called Michael at work to tell him she slept until 8:30 am and he just laughed and said, "WOW... don't get your hopes up, she's just spoiling us!" ... Yes well, you never know, when she's teething it may be a whole different story.

She's getting SO long, or tall, (whichever you prefer)... she was 24 inches at her 2 month check up and I'm thinking she's gained at least 2 inches since... seriously, she's actually OUTGROWING her 3-6 month clothes and she's not even 4 months yet. Not to mention she's a chunky baby, it makes sense that she should sleep so well, haha. But she's also just so TALL she looks like she's a 5 or 6 month old all around.

She has a new pal, SassyBaskets. SassyBaskets is a stuffed purple hippo, a Christmas gift from our friends Laura and Ray. SassyBaskets and Lydia are buddies and she rides in the carseat with her all the time... today when coming home from the grocery store Lydia finally caved for a nap and I couldn't resist taking a picture of her and SassyBaskets...just all snuggled up where Lydia let go of her when she drifted off to sleep. Too cute! See Lydia's little arm around her? She grabs her close and chews on her head... no kidding, it's really cute.

Josiah wanted some lovin' time after Lydia woke up from her nap... once again, can never resist taking pictures of the two of them playing around together. Enjoy!
