Confession...

I find these cheeks abosolutely IRRESISTABLE! I think Lydia assumes that all children just get kissed on their cheeks constantly :)

Busy... oh my are we busy.

So Lydia is doing OKAY... thank you for your prayers! Her fever dissapeared and never really returned, but she's now cranky and having very... "loose poops" (sorry that's gross, ha ha) and she seems kinda "off". Not herself. It could be teething, who knows. She's okay though, if she's in momma's arms like, every second :) Therefore, she is a little fussier than usual, but still okay.

We are SO. BUSY. This weekend is Tara and Drew's wedding so we have been very busy preparing for that. Michael and I are singing and Josiah is the ringbearer. It also happens to be his birthday this Friday, so we are going to try to do something fun during the day with him, and then go to the rehearsal dinner. Then we have the wedding Saturday, and I (hopefully) will finish painting the bathroom on Sunday. Then we have only a few more days before we have our open house/birthday party with all the family and friends... so I'll be cleaning and finishing up all our last minute house projects!

SO stay tuned for more pictures and a recap of all the wild events. Boy when the next two weeks are over, it'll be nice to take a deep breath and relaxxx... :)

We are so blessed though, and so excited!
God bless you and yours!

Sick Baby Girl!

We're not sure what is going on with Lydia just yet, but she has a very high fever all the sudden.. 101.5. We are thinking (hoping) that it could be just childhood roseola, which is where the child has a VERY high fever for 2 or 3 days and then it just dissapears, and then they get a rash all over them, but that's it and then it's gone. Josiah had it... and I can't remember exactly what age but I think it was around now. He acted normal and didn't seem to care at all, but the high fever was scary. Lydia seems fine too, just a little decreased appetite but that's it. So anyway, please say a prayer for her speedy recovery from whatever her body is fighting off! Thank you!

Daddy Playground

All These Upcoming Events...

We have so many events coming up... I am trying not to go crazy. I'm excited for all of them but nervous for some too (like singing in our friend's wedding). Just THINKING about it makes my stomach start feeling all floppy and I get woozy. OH MY. (Please say a prayer I won't pass out and will be able to make it through the song!) Josiah also happens to the be the ring bearer... so that day will be high on the stress toll for Mommy.

Here are some pictures from a fun day at the park that we had recently when it was nice enough to be outside. Of course, we had to pick the certain park that on a certain day was being used for a Field Day for a private school! HA! figures. Lots of kids were there! So it was a brief trip to the park, we're planning to go another day it's not so crowded, I couldn't keep up with him by myself (while holding Lydia) with so many people around. It was fun watching Josiah climb up the fake "rock wall" and make his way around though... he's getting so much bigger and taller and is better at climbing and navigating a playground, it's really neat to see. I don't have to watch him and guard him every second like I used to. Sad though too, where has my little boy gone!? People are serious when they say it goes by so fast!

Well... I don't have much new to report but I will post some more pictures that I have from recently, or maybe a video if I can get it up and running!
Take care and God bless!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCY!

Today we'd like to wish a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our precious neice and god-daughter Anna Lucille! Lucy is officially 2 years old today... (uh oh, good luck Mom and Dad!) and we are totally in love with her. She has such a special and charming spirit and personality, she can light up anyone's day (and life) with just a look! And I admit it, she's quite possibly the cutest child alive. Just don't tell my kids I said that :) ha ha ha.. okay, they all are tied! :)

We can't get enough of Lucy, she's just completely 100% original (a lot like her Mama!) and we know she'll always be a bright LIGHT in this world.
We love you Lucy, hope you had a FABU-TWO day!
We can't wait to see you next weekend and celebrate with you!!!
Love,
Aunt Lisa, Uncle Michael and your favorite cousins

p.s. Dear "Luce", you are my favowite cousin. I like that you and I can fight and then still hug. And I like playing play dough with you. Wanna play play dough? Happy Birfday! Love, Josiah

p.p.s. Dear Lucy, you can play with the straps in my car seat anytime and buckle your babies in. You are really pretty, I love you! - Lydia

Serious Puddle Splashing

So the kids and I have been pretty trapped in the house with all this rain. BLAH! So when it lightened up a little today we decided to get on some boots and splash in some puddles. OH MY was Josiah thrilled! Usually he sees a HUGE puddle just as we're walking out of Wal-Mart... or walking into the library... or worse, walking into church- and I have to yell "NO! don't jump in that! We're going to mass! You'll get all icky!" ha ha. But today I said, "GO AHEAD, JUMP AWAY" and that's just great fun.
I got some great shots of his puddle jumping fun, and a few of his sister who just really seemed to want to jump out of her stroller and jump in the puddles with him. Enjoy! :)

Family Resemblance

So I've come across pictures here and there of Josiah as a baby that just look so much like Lydia. I'm sure there are more, but here's a cute comparison. ha ha- definitely two peas outta the same pod. Enjoy :)

The Weekends

I LOVE the weekends. Well, I mean, who doesn't? But, Michael used to work on the weekends... so now that he has a regular Mon-Fri job, the weekends are just so much better and more special. Every Saturday morning as a family we have scrambled cheesy eggs and pancakes- mostly chocolate chip pancakes! Recently however, Josiah and Daddy have been calling them "mud pies with flies" ha ha. The first time this originated, it was really funny because Michael was just trying to play "pretend" with him but when he said, "What do you want for breakfast Josiah? How about some mud pies with flies!" Josiah broke down in tears and cried, "NOooooooo daaaaddddyyy... I want the pancakes with chooocoolaattee chiiipppss... waaahhhh" ha ha ha. What a kid. So, once that mis-understanding was cleared up, now they laugh and joke about it all the time.

I'm so proud of Josiah. In our (homeschool) preschool time each morning (when Lydia is napping- very convienant!) he is just blowing me away. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since he's got his Daddy's brains :) Still, I'm just very impressed. Once I see him remember something or do something that's remarkable for his age, I think, "Hmm... I wonder if I could teach him ...this yet?" and when I try, WOW he's just doing amazing. Since I know you want the specific update NANA ;o) ...Right now he can write (well- trace) his name almost perfectly and does a pretty good job writing it himself too. He can recognize almost all the letters and tell you their sounds. He's starting to point out letters everywhere we go, and even recognize and READ (yup- read!) a few words! He is also learning to identify numbers, 1-10 and he's doing great at it. He can count to 20 and is learning the "greater than- less than" concept. Once he gets that down I can start with addition. In his own words (which he used to say at about 15-18 months and it was so cute!) ... "YAY JOSIAH!"

In other news, I found the Christian bookstore today, which is convienantly located right around the corner from our house, we could probably walk there on a nice day. It's really nice and the kids were so good for me this morning while we were there. BUT BEST OF ALL... they have school materials! I mean it's not a really great homeschool resource, but they do have some great educational stuff and I found an adorable book- it's like a VBS (vacation bible school) book with crafts and projects to do all through the summer- YAYYY!!!!! SO- since I didn't really want to stop schooling for three months, but also feel my son should get to ENJOY summer... we're going to focus on religion all summer and just dabble with the usual letters/numbers etc. I want to do lots of "field trips" in the nice weather, the zoo, the harbor, the science center, etc. YAY! I'm so excited for this warmer weather to come and stay.

Well, I'm off to finish up some cleaning. Our great friends Jess, Brian, Leah and Megan are coming tomorrow and we couldn't be MORE excited!!! See you guys later!
