Some people are under the (very highly common) misconception that Catholics "worship" Mary and the Saints.
Ahem, that's not true.
Maybe I should just say that one more time to clarify. We don't worship and adore Mary and the Saints.
We worship God, and his Son Jesus Christ, our Savior. HE is the reason our church exists.
However, we do honor especially holy people who have led a life following Jesus. We remember them in our prayers, and with pictures, to remind us of how we should live our lives. Sometimes a good example is a great way to learn how to love and serve Jesus better.
