Big Boy

Well, my "baby" got his first big boy haircut today... he looks very handsome, and so grown up! (and more like his cousin JB!!) haha. As my Mom always says, haircuts and new shoes, makes them look older. haha  He was surprisingly very good for the hairdresser (yay!) probably thanks to the fact that Mommy held his head still and he sucked on a lollipop until he (and Mommy) were covered with sticky goo. Yum.

Regardless... it was much needed... so it was worth it!

Here's a before shot... sorta, I thought of taking it quick in the car, so it's hard to see! but hey I tried.

And here's my handsome little fella afterwards! :)

He's getting so big... but we're loving every minute of this precious silly boy!

Mommy Mishaps

As I told my Dad recently, sometimes I feel like I could I write a book about the hilarious adventures of a stay-at-home Mom with young children.

As usual I'm keeping the family on their toes (hey, someone needs to keep life exciting, right?) with my current health issues. I needed to go to the lab to get some blood drawn and all that jazz... and all the ones around us close at 4pm. Well, Hubby doesn't even get OFF work until 4:30. He said he could "come home early" one day, but I thought, why miss work for that? It doesn't even take that long... I'll just go.

I packed my things and took the kids to the lab this morning. I figured... hopefully there won't be a line, worst case if it takes too long I'll go home. So I get there-- totally empty. Thing 1 and 2 are happy and being good, flipping through family magazines while I give the lady my information (the little curious George monkey-baby boy is happily strapped to my back not going anywhere!) She gets all she needs and then she says, "I'm going to have to call the lab... your doctor's handwriting leaves much to be desired."

So we sit and I try to keep the kids busy while she goes about her search. She calls the lab and gets several tests that were ordered cleared up, but says even they couldn't determine what 2 of them were. So then she calls my referring doctor, and gets--of course-- a message saying they are "on the phone or busy" and to leave a message. So she leaves a message to have them call her asap so she can figure out what tests they are  requesting.

I take the kids out for a walk around the sidewalks for 10 minutes and check back in... she says she still hasn't heard anything. So I thank her for her time, tell her I'll come back another day and take my kids and the order and go home.

Good times. Hopefully the next time I go I'll at least be able to get the tests done.

Summer Buzz...

Well, the warm weather hits and it's like the calendar automatically fills up... doesn't it? It's amazing how busy we've gotten in such a short amount of time. At the same time, we are loving the "lazy summer days" around our house. As far as school goes we are "off" for summer (have been since May) but of course we homeschool so we're pretty much learning all the time- as it should be. We are reading books daily as usual, and Josiah is signed up for our local library's summer reading club, so he's anxiously devouring books to earn stickers and prizes! I don't know why, but ever since we've finished school for the year it's almost as if he's more interested in reading. His reading skills have just shot up by leaps and bounds the past few weeks, and I don't know why. Maybe something just "clicked" or he's just reading things he enjoys more? who knows! We are so proud of him.

We spent a few days at the Ocean last week with my parents and had a BLAST! We kept busy flying kites, jumping waves, building sandcastles, burying Grandpa in the sand, sliding and swimming in the pool, bandaging boo-boo's, jumping in the outdoor pool, and so much more.

Super cool moment caught on camera- Josiah jumping in pool to Grandpa!

*We've gotten a family picture like this each year at the beach. It's so cool to watch the children between us grow and grow! haha... I am going to have to get all of them printed out and put next to each other in a frame. Very cool... we are so blessed.

Daddy and Benjamin enjoy the "garden path" at the hotel

Grandpa--the mermaid! HAHAHA
(He's such a good sport!)

We came home last Wednesday night from OC and left Friday morning to visit out family in PA. Once again we had a blast there, and enjoyed a family reunion on th 4th of July. Lots of fun and good memories! I'll try to post a few more pictures soon... in the meantime, just know we're keeping busy and having fun so that's why my posting has gotten more rare! We also accidentally missed Benjamin's 15 month check-up-- oops-- so that's rescheduled for a week or so. This week my little man has his 5 yr check! Not that I'm concerned about either of them, they are doing wonderful and we are very blessed.

We hope you all are well too! God Bless you!
