I had a non-stress test on Monday, my 41 weeks date, although "non-stressful" would be anything but Monday morning! Lydia woke up Sunday morning vomiting and didn't stop for 24 hours. By Monday morning the pediatrician told us to take her to the ER since she could very well be dehydrated and we didn't want to risk anything since that can cause brain damage. We quickly dressed Josiah and gathered our things... and dropped Lydia and Daddy off at the ER while Josiah (and Grandpa who met us there to help- thank God!) went over with me to the scheduled non-stress test across the street at the other building.
Long story shorter, all looks well with the baby... yet at the same time he/she is still overdue and it's putting extra stress on my body and heart. I've been having palpitations for the past week, which, is most likely just due to carrying all this extra weight and my heart working harder to pump extra blood, but it's still a scary symptom I've never had before. In keeping with my feelings of "God's timing" and remembering that babies really don't know what day on the calendar it is (I wish they did!) I decided to wait a little longer to give this kid a chance to GET OUT on it's own. It's just too comfy in there! They can't let you go past 42 weeks, so I knew I'd have to have an induction soon. The midwife scheduled an induction for the end of the week, this Thursday at 8:30 am. She asked if I wanted to schedule it earlier, but I told her I'll give this kid the last couple days to come out on it's own... otherwise we'll induce. (SO... please pray this baby comes tonight or tomorrow night... it'd be nice to go into labor naturally) but if not, we should have good news to share with you by Thursday! It's also a good thing I DIDN'T schedule an induction earlier since I was in the hospital all night last night with Lydia. We were able to get her virus and dehydration under control enough to come home, and then we were busy today disinfecting knobs and handles and all kinds of things around the house to keep the germs at bay! We're hoping Josiah (and all of us) stay healthy as we welcome Three-Bee into the world... SOON!
(Thank God for breastfeeding... the odds of the baby getting sick while nursing are practically nil!)
SO ... there is a light at the end of this...very LONG tunnel... haha! :) We'll keep you posted!
